“Palm Sunday”

Today at church was powerful—one of those services that stays with you long after it ends. As we celebrated Palm Sunday, we were reminded of the depth of Jesus' love, the meaning of His entrance into Jerusalem, and how personal our relationship with Him truly is.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. It commemorates the day Jesus entered Jerusalem, riding humbly on a donkey, as crowds laid palm branches before Him shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” That moment was more than a celebration—it was a declaration. Jesus was, and is, the King of everything. But instead of arriving with force or grand display, He came in peace, reminding us that His power is rooted in humility, compassion, and love.

It's called Palm Sunday because of those very branches the people laid down—a symbol of victory, peace, and eternal life. But it’s also a call to prepare our hearts. To truly welcome Jesus not just into the city, but into our lives.

Today’s sermon beautifully highlighted the uniqueness of our relationship with Christ. It’s not one-size-fits-all. It’s personal. It’s intimate. Jesus doesn’t just know our names—He knows our hearts, our struggles, and our story. He’s been present from the beginning, showing up again and again, even when we don’t always notice.

And then, as if the message wasn’t moving enough, we witnessed baptisms. New believers making a public, bold statement of faith—choosing to follow Jesus with their whole hearts. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone go under the water and rise up, transformed. It’s a moment of surrender, of trust, of stepping into a new life. And watching that today reminded me of the immense impact God has on us in every way.

Even though I was baptized as a child in a Catholic church, today brought it full circle for me. It reminded me of the power of God, the way He works in every season, through every person, no matter where we’re at in our journey.

Faith isn’t always easy. There are moments when life doesn’t go our way—when things get bumpy and confusing. But even then, especially then, we’re called to follow God. Not just when things are good, but when they’re hard. Because He is faithful. He is constant. And He walks with us through every step.

Today was a celebration, yes—but more than that, it was a reminder. That Jesus is King. That He knows us. That He’s been here from the beginning. And that saying “yes” to Him—just like those who were baptized today—is the beginning of something greater.
